What’s Our Story?
In 2000 – this is where it all started – in the 7th Township of Langley. While some things have changed, like signage and our new cellar style tasting room, our principles and focus have not: we are just about making quality wine and nothing else.
Off the highway and “Metro Vancouver adjacent”, our Fraser Valley winery is set in a lush agricultural landscape, surrounded by green vistas and the occasional trot by of an equine explorer. Grape growing? Yes. Explore your inner wine geek without leaving the Lower Mainland and get to know this gem that has bubbly ambitions.
Here, our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines are destined for sparkling wine from a vineyard perfect for growing these noble grapes in the Champagne style. An adventure to come, but meanwhile, an invitation to try the wines of Township 7 awaits visitors who have finally pulled in after driving by and wondering, what is this picturesque place all about?
Here you’ll find wine, art, culture and culinary experiences brought together by the thoughtful knowledgeable staff who welcome fresh and returning visitors. This is a place to introduce your senses to BC wine. Your first tasting? Not unheard of. It won’t be your last. Or a hard core oenophile? Fantastic, geek out with us.
Take a break from the bustling city life of business and smartphone notifications to have some fun here. A tasting in the shop is a good first step, but how about a comfortable wine and food seminar? A little snip of wine education — no judgment if you can’t say, “terroir” — a cultural event out amongst the vines, or an exclusive clubSEVEN gathering for our wine club members, with pours from wines not offered to anyone else.
The Faces Behind The Names?
Our team is fun, enthusiastic and are here to ensure you have a great time while enjoying our exceptional and award winning wines.
Manager, Langley, Erick Poulton
In hospitality since the age of 16, Erick brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Township 7, working in 5 Diamond/5 Star Hotels and Resorts throughout the world. His journey began as a teenager in the kitchens of local Lower Mainland restaurants with the desire to be a Chef. After joining the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Food and Beverage service, he transitioned to the front of house, supervising and managing in many of Canada’s top hotel and resort restaurants including: Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Royal York, Algonquin, and Banff Springs. An opportunity to work with a Three Michelin Star Chef led to management positions at the Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. In 2018 he returned to Canada as Director of Food and Beverage for the luxury heli-skiing pioneer, Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing, overseeing their world class summer and winter operations. Finally in 2020, after over two decades in hospitality his passions for food and beverage, wine, and people were brought together at Township 7. An avid golfer, when not in the tasting room, Erick can be found with his wife Evgeniia enjoying the beautiful golf courses in the Fraser Valley.
Club & Ecommerce Supervisor, Cody Karman
A B.C. native and another Boathouse Restaurant alumnus, Cody has a multifaceted background with a wealth of hospitality and communications credentials. As a server and later bartender he developed an appreciation for B.C. wine and loved connecting with people, hearing the stories they had to share. He describes himself as a “hidden nerd” who was a self-proclaimed computer geek in school, which has translated into a strong knowledge of digital marketing with over five years working in website, social media and email marketing. At Township 7, he has been able to blend his hospitality experience and IT savvy with a strong passion for wine. Stop by our Langley winery, Cody would love to connect with you!
Tasting Room Supervisor, Barb Flink
Barb grew up in Penticton when the wine industry was just emerging in the Okanagan Valley. With a passion for food and wine and catering in her background, she joined the team at Township 7 Vineyards and Winery in 2020. Barb is all about people and leading a team who are generous in hospitality and customer service. With a genuine fondness for our club members and repeat visitors she continues to enjoy the Tasting Room experience after a decade of service.
During her time at Township 7 Barb has enjoyed increasing her wine knowledge and has completed WSET 1,2 and 3. In her opinion, everything we savour on our plates can be paired with the perfect wine! It is a joy for her to share her love of wine with family and friends and spends a generous amount of time in the kitchen preparing food to share with others. She may have a glass of wine in her hand!
The rest of the team in Langley is always eager to share their T7 stories and taste you through our wine.
