Our single vineyard, Benchmark Series 2019 Pinot Noir is made from a combination of two Dijon clones; 115 and 667. The grapes came from long-time growers Dwight and Arnie Gash in Okanagan Falls. Their sustainably managed vineyard is on a south facing slope which allows for even ripening of the rich, dark fruit and firm tannins. The wine was aged in French oak barrels, the majority being neutral, for 12 months to ensure that the delicate fruit and tannins were not overpowered. This finely nuanced vintage displays heady aromas of dark cherry and raspberry complimented by a delicate earthiness. On the palate, the silky fruit up front is supported by savoury notes that finish with well-integrated tannins and acidity, giving this elegant wine superb length.
