Springtime wines

With the long awaited arrival of spring this weekend, we are thrilled to announce the new release of two of our most aromatic whites, the Provenance Series 2019 7 Blanc and Provenance Series 2019 Sauvignon Blanc.

Our Provenance Series 2019 7 Blanc is unoaked and wonderfully refreshing. This popular white blend is predominantly Gewürztraminer followed by Viognier, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Muscat to create a balanced and beautifully scented wine. This vintage shows fragrant peach, pear, lychee, ginger, and a hint of honeysuckle aromas. The fresh and juicy palate is off-dry with ripe stone fruit, candied apple, spice and bright citrus flavours, ensuring just the right balance between acidity and sweetness.

Our Provenance Series 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is made primarily with Sauvignon Blanc from our estate Blue Terrace vineyard in north Oliver, which was fermented in stainless steel, and shows the tart embrace of crisp, refreshing acidity. To balance this acidity our winemaker added a small portion of barrel fermented Sémillon, sourced from Robert Cleaves’ Desert Wolf vineyard on Black Sage Road in Oliver. The stainless steel ferments add fresh varietal character, while the barrel ferments round out the mouthfeel. This varietal combination maintains the classic Sauvignon Blanc characteristics, enhanced with honey and tropical fruit notes from the Sémillon. Acclaimed by wine critics, both John Schreiner and Daenna Van Mulligen scored this wine 90 points, with Daenna describing it as, “Racy, slick, focused…” and John as, “crisp and zesty…”

The wines are available to our club members starting this weekend and will be available for general sale at both wineries on April 2.
