This week marks the midpoint of summer, and we have just the wine to enjoy on a hot August evening. Unoaked and delightfully thirst quenching, our 2020 7 Blanc is a unique blend of aromatic white varieties, predominantly Riesling followed by Gewürztraminer, Viognier, Pinot Gris, and Muscat. This vintage is made with nicely ripened grapes from our Naramata Bench estate and two long time growers in Oliver and south Osoyoos. The varietals were cool fermented in stainless steel at 13°C over the span of approximately 21 days to bring forth the fresh fruit characteristics. It displays fragrant aromas of peach, key lime, lychee, rose petal, and a hint of honeysuckle. The palate is off-dry with ripe stone fruits, Fuji apple, and fresh citrus flavours, ensuring a good balance between acidity and sweetness. Great beachside or with a book (A Midsummer Night’s Dream perhaps?), this balanced and wonderfully scented wine, is summer in a glass!
